You could be a little more positive: instead of saying "no", you could say "only if you write it yourself", with the followup "and then could we have a copy, please?".

Oh, all right. No.

Would anyone who reads German better than I do - or even better is involved in this - care to summarise the status of the project (a) in terms of where it has got to and (b) its relationship to Kosmos?

In autumn 2004 the users Themistokles and AlimghtiX both started working on independent versions of a PC playable game of Blue Moon, not knowing of each others attempts. Then they discovered their parallel engagement by accident, and AlmightiX withdraw his version, which we only know from sort of a "moving screenshot". His version was VB (Visual Basic) based - if I am not wrong now.

The version of Themistokles is Java based (which makes it more platform independant than VB) and got to a state, where the Aqua, Pillar, E&I I and II are still missing, and the AI (artifical intelligence) is only at a very basic level. At that time the developer had to undertake a major change in his real life work and obviously no more time yet to continue his work on the game.
This version even in its very early state (we call it Alpha version - to make a distinction to a playable Beta version) provided great fund to play with. It already included a multiplayer option as well as single play against the computer and an interface for several AI plugins (to be written by interested users capable of Java programming).

I am just about to inquire about his future plans for the work and how to get on with it.

The relationship to Kosmos is very simple. They grant everyone who applies for it the withdrawable right to use the pictures, game idea, cards and so one for a private, non-commercial PC game version, as long as they (Kosmos) are mentioned as the copyright holder and the game and its sources are made available to the public.

Do you have the software? Can you play with it?
I don't think so - that's why I said "no". Ruwenzori's summary makes it clear.
