ich erstelle den thread hier, da ich im englischen forum keinen verjagen möchte nach dem motte "oh wenn hier eh nie jemand is, hau ich auch gleich wieder ab"
1. ist der erfolg ausserhalb deutschlands denn so gering?
2. es wäre doch toll wenn es eine möglichkeit gäbe mit englisch sprachigen spielern in kontakt zu treten damit wir auch mit ihnen spielen können, gibts evtl noch mehr plattformen wo man sie finden kann ausser die 2 genannten? barty - Do 21 Jun, 2007 17:46 Titel:

There appears (I haven't read it) to be more specific strategy articles here than on the Geek. Apart from one excellent article on the Hoax (alas the author never followed up with the other peoples) strategy is more fragmented.
But yes, The Geek is where the English discussion is. But the FFG forum did actually raise a question that spread here recently. Melty - Do 21 Jun, 2007 19:28 Titel:

wir könnten nämlich dort mal ein lebenszeichen von uns geben und auf den chat hinweisen, in dem man auf andere spieler treffen kann um BM zu spielen. Es ist im BGG eigentlich schon bekannt, dass diese Seite hier existiert. Der Umstand von Trennung zwischen deutschen und englischen Forum wird im Allgemeinen wohl jedoch nicht als schlimm betrachtet. Die Frage also ist, was genau willst du bezwecken? Melty - Fr 22 Jun, 2007 22:11 Titel:

dieser spruch "blue moon stirbt" ist zwar absoluter schwachsinn, aber bevor je ein notstand an spielern entstehen sollte, können wir doch jetzt bereits den schritt in die richtige richtung tun. die community wird auf einen schlag größer und wird aufgrund der gewonnenen größe evtl sogar noch weiter wachsen, denn wenn mal ein hype besteht kommen immer auch neue leute dazu

Unfortunately, the major English speaking Blue Moon playing countries are the USA and the UK, probably the least multilingual countries on the planet - and German is probably not even second on the British list, and still lower on the American one. So the bottom line is that, unfortunately, I don't see many English speakers visiting the German section here - and as between the English section here and at the Geek, the latter has achieved dominance (for various reasons, none of which are as important as that it has). You'll get the occasional visitor (I read some threads using a combination of my dreadful German and Google's language tools, augmented by my dedicated German - English Blue Moon vocabulary list at http://www.mnemosyne.demon.co.uk/bgames/bluemoon/) but I doubt it will be significant. But - fairly or unfairly - if you want bridges between the two communities, it'll have to be by you going to the Geek, as some or most of you can do that. Of course one or two of you do, and I'm by no means suggesting you should. just that if you want it, that's the only way I see it happening. If you've got some good strategy articles, that would be especially welcome.

Well last year somebody from the United States was in the german liga chat and we played:) Here it was like 22:00 hours in the evening and there it was just like 11:00 in the morning. it doesn´t seem that there is an english speaking blue moon chat to meet other BM fans to play online.
So for everyone who´s interested:
There is a chat where german, austrian and dutch players created a solid community of players, which meet to play the BM advanced game variant via the program "card table". Everyone there is capable of speaking english and would be happy to see new players, so it´s up to you to visit us :)
But please mind the time difference. If you live in NY and are joining the chat at 4pm, in germany it´s already 10pm, so for you it´s probably only possible to find players at noon and the early afternoon.
I dont know if you allready know CT (card table), but if you have any questions about it, i´m sure everyone in the chat will be up to help you, or just ask in this thread.
