In the German part of the Forum, several people sometimes pose some fun challenges to the fans by showing "error cards" that have been changed from the original.
One is this is shown here:
It has twelve errors (there is none in the German language flavor text . If you can find 6 or more without looking at the original card, you're an expert. If you find all 12 by comparing the cards, you're good as well.
Have fun !

Close. "5 and there's something funny there, but maybe it's in the original art" before, 12 after.
The good news is that I spotted the functional changes. But I was lucky, give me one of those boring Vulca characters and I don't remember if it's a 4/2 or a 2/4 or something else. Artwork - well apart from the obvious and that something doesn't look right (nothing to do with being different) I've no idea. I still half expect to see clip art.
Incidentally there's a 13th error: it's spelt CHARACTER. (I don't do smilies.)

You caught me. Of course, I forgot to mention to ignore this obvious translation difference...
Interestingly, most people detect the "finished window" as the last one whereas the first error seen usually is anyone of the "obvious 4" (name, card number, moon and people's shortcut).
There will be more of those appearing in the German language section from time to time (maybe one per month). Given enough interest, I might post them here a well - after all, it's only a link to the same physical .JPG file location...

Name was first ... but then I had to check it hadn't been renamed in German! The card number isn't forged as well as it might be, so that was a confirmation (18 was also too high - if you'd made it 16 I'd not have been sure). The deck letter was also obvious - A isn't out yet! Moons I happened to have been looking at moon costs of shielded non-mutants just yesterday so I lucked out there (but 2 is too high, and the second
moon is off).
For the artwork the finished window was late but not quite last. The Macdonalds sign was the only one I spotted - and that the leg shadow looked poor art (of course the original is right).

That's interesting. How can you judge immediately whether a card number is too high ? There must be some hidden rule (or probably more of them) for setting the card numbers that we haven't understood yet.
Of course, there is sufficient discussion on card numbering (even more with the preview cards being out now giving nice hints about what is to come soon) in the German language sections here. But I haven't seen any rule yet that would allow me to recognize "18" as a number too high for Silento Sol ???

Nothing magical. I just happened recently to create (and then throw away) a table of how many of each type of card for each people, over all ten decks, and only the Mimix and Khind (of seven peoples) go above 17 and I happened to remember that. Incidentally where are the zeroes in the table I mentioned?
Of course there are patterns, basically "vanilla" characters first, then special characters, each in order of value (greatest then least, fire before earth). Of course the Khind are an obvious exception to this pattern. If there's anything more detailed than that I haven't seen it.

Hmmm... ten decks ? Really ? We have 8 people's decks and the upcoming ""Gesandte & Inquisitoren"(sorry, can't remember the English name at the moment). Makes me wonder whether there wll be a second "special deck" later as I can't remember any official announcement at the moment...

There will be a second Special Deck.
It was anounced by Sebastian Rapp.
He Told that ther will be two Special Sets. The first will come up with the Pillar, as you now yourself, the other will come up with the Aqua in Autumn of the Year.

The question would be: is that the end of the BM Card game or will we see a third special set in spring 2006?

hopefully not - the worst that could happen is the special set II being the last official cards to be released ever

Of course over on the Geek, someone was moved to less than courteous language by the idea of any more than eight decks ever. Ah, well, you can't please all of the people all of the time.
(Of course even if I were to know what might happen in the future I couldn't say. I couldn't even speculate as someone might think it was informed.)

ok - for those people you have in mind I wish to revise my above statement as follows:
The best that could happen is the special set II being the last official cards to be released ever
And now you may choose the statement which satisfies your expectations best
@Dearlove: note please, your quotings always miss the second quotation mark at the end of the authors name, thats why the quotation box does not show up.

Don't know what you're talking about, I don't see any missing quotes.
(Oh, alright, I went back and fixed them. And not always, just sometimes, but for some reason particularly in this topic. Of course I could have just removed even your comment to really cover my tracks.)

Here is another picture puzzle that I posted some time ago in the German language section of this forum...
It includes 12 errors again, which are not really easy to find if you don't have the original card at hand for comparison...
